A Comparison of the Fine-Grinding Performance between Cylpebs and Ceramic Balls in the Wet Tumbling Mill

This study investigated the effect of grinding media on fine-grinding performance in wet tumbling mill. Comparative experiments between cylpebs and ceramic balls were conducted a laboratory ball mill under various conditions, such as different total masses, surface areas, numbers. The results indicated that produce slightly smaller instantaneous breakage rate than due to their small bulk density at same charge volume. However, larger can be obtained by with mass area. According related area number balls, it was found fine also needs meet certain break force, which is mainly determined diameter balls. Moreover, two models developed use instead based size ratio cylpebs. Cylpebs replaced 1.16–1.75 times cylpebs, taking up only 76%–83% weight When volume 20% 35% mill, single mass, being 74%–77%
